The flavor and look of the berry is similar to that of a blueberry and we're excited to be able to shine a spotlight on this beautiful, cold climate berry.  Our Vinegars are hand-crafted in small- and micro-batches to showcase the fresh flavors of the season. We use old-fashioned cold-steep preservation techniques to bring out the richest, most-complex flavor profile possible.

Michigan Saskatoon. 16 oz.

Ingredients: Raw, unpasteurized, organic apple cider vinegar with the Mother, Michgan-grown Saskatoons, organic cane sugar.

Suggested cocktail pairings: whiskey, vodka.


Simple Shrub Cocktail Recipe 
Combine in a lowball glass of ice: 
1.5 oz spirit of your choice (see suggested pairings) 
1 oz McClary Bros. Drinking Vinegar 
Top off with 1.5 oz sparkling water 
mix. drink. repeat as necessary.


Simple Shrub Soda Recipe 
Combine 1 part McClary Bros. Drinking Vinegar with 4 parts sparkling water. 
Garnish with lemon is desired.

The Saskatoon Old Fashioned

  • 3/4 oz McClary Bros. Saskatoon Drinking Vinegar
  • 1/2 oz turbinado simple syrup (see below for instructions)
  • 2 oz your favorite, high quality whiskey
  • 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters 
  • 3 drops Fee Brothers Black Walnut Bitters
  • 2 orange peels 

Combine vinegar, syrup, angostura bitters and one orange peel in a cocktail shaker. Stir well.  

Add well formed small ice cubes (no crushed ice). Add whiskey. Stir again. Strain into an old-fashioned glass over big ice.  

Add 2 drops of Black Walnut Bitters. Twist 1 orange peel over glass to release the oils. Run the peel around the rim of the glass and then place the peel into the glass.

*To make turbinado simple syrup, heat up 1/2 cup water. Before boiling, add 1/2 cup turbinado sugar. Stir, allow to simmer, but avoid a strong boil. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat. Allow to cool, then place in a glass jar and continue cooling in the refrigerator. Will be good in refrigerator for many weeks.
